How to Get Inspired

I think we all go through phases where we just aren't feeling inspired. If you're a creative person like me, being in a bit of an inspiration rut can be really discouraging. Whatever the reason for your lack of inspiration, it can be hard to get it back. I know I recently went through a period of feeling uninspired because I felt a bit overwhelmed with school/work stuff, and as I've mentioned before, sometimes you need to take a break when you aren't feeling creative or inspired. This post is going to be all about my tips for getting back into that groove of being inspired!

Dedicate time to brainstorming.

I know it can be hard to sit down and "brainstorm" when you aren't feeling particularly inspired. I think the best way to do it is just set aside literally 10 minutes a day to pull up a notepad on your phone, your favorite notebook, a Word document, or whatever you feel most comfortable with, and just write down some ideas.

I've found that when I'm feeling uninspired, I can sometimes pick myself back up by writing a bit and coming to the realization that I'm not in as much of a creative rut as I thought I was. Sometimes life distractions can make it hard to dig through your brain to the creative side, because you're so focused on what's right in front of you at the time being.

Browse through Pinterest.

Who doesn't love scrolling through Pinterest, anyway? Pinterest is such a fun app that I love to look at for inspiration. Whether I'm looking for blog inspiration, motivation to study, or just a positive note to pick up my day, I always turn right to Pinterest to lift my spirits. I have a board dedicated to inspiration where I love to pin uplifting and positive quotes to motivate me!

Create an inspiring atmosphere.

Creating an inspiring atmosphere can be so helpful to get your creativity flowing. I know that I HATE being in a messy space. A mess makes my brain feel cluttered and I just can't bring myself to be creative.

If your desk, room, or wherever you choose to do work or be creative is messy, give it a nice clean. Light a candle, arrange some inspirational books on the coffee table, or get some adorable throw pillows. I'm obsessed with soft pillows like these! Throw pillows have been my favorite way to dress up a simple bedroom space lately.

Put positive vibes out there.

I'm a big believer that a positive mind will bring you a positive life. If you're feeling particularly uninspired, try to focus on your place in the world and putting out positive energy. Compliment people, offer help, and be friendly!

Positive people tend to make me feel more positive. I would love to the the type of person that does just the same! Being positive honestly makes me feel more inspired and happy at the same time.

What do you do to get inspired on a daily basis?
