Easy Ways To Stress Less

Stress is rough.

I don't know about you, but I'm a stresser... Always have been. I've learned that finding ways to de-stress is kind of essential. Like absolutely essential. Stress is awful for your body and your well being, so why let is get you down? I've chatted about college stress before, but I wanted to dive a bit more into stress in general rather than just in college... Because everyone gets stressed sometimes!

Organize, organize, organize

I think one of the biggest things that helps me either de-stress or just avoid it all in the first place is staying super organized. I feel like staying on top of your life keeps everything from building up and hitting you at once.

I'm an organization FREAK. I love to color code, I love routine, and I even love to keep my makeup perfectly organized.

Organization is seriously my best friend. If you want to prevent stress from creeping into your life, I would highly recommend doing some serious organizing. It will make life a whole lot easier!

Treat yo' self

Shout out Park N' Rec...Do you watch it?

I'm a believer in treating yourself.

No, I don't believe you have to spend a bunch of money to do that either.

For me, the perfect way to treat myself involves a fabulous bubble bath, a good book, and a little at home manicure.

Taking time for self-care is extremely important when you're feeling overwhelmed. Take some time alone. Relax. It makes a huge difference.

Mmm, tea

Sometimes I think tea is pure magic. I have a couple of favorites when I'm feeling stressed out:

These 3 teas have TONS of benefits. There's something comforting about a hot cup of tea when you're feeling stressed out.

Tea always magically makes me feel a lot better.

To top it off, the 3 teas I mentioned are caffeine-free so they're totally safe for your stressed out body.

Which brings me to my next point...

Chill out on the coffee for a bit

I know, it's tough. I love coffee as much as the next girl, but since caffeine increases anxiety in someone who isn't stressed out, it's best to avoid it like the plague when you actually are feeling stressed or anxious.

If you absolutely need caffeine, try drinking green tea instead for a few days to get a bit of a caffeine fix. Green tea contains a lot less caffeine than a good ol' cup of coffee, and it is also full of health benefits!

Eat well and exercise

Eating super fatty foods or yucky fast food does absolutely nothing good for you when you're stressed (let alone when you aren't stressed...). Try to pay extra attention to what you're putting into your body when you're feeling stressed.

Exercise is a great stress reliever. Sometimes when I'm stressed out the last thing I want to do is go exercise, but I always feel so much better afterwards.

Are you a stresser? How do you stress less?
