My Summer Night Routine

Hi friends! I've gotten a few requests to share my summer night routine, and I love creating routine posts so I thought it would be a fun idea. I love to see what other people's routines are, so if you have a summer night routine post, please feel free to share it in the comments or let me know what your summer nighttime routine looks like! So, here's mine:

As many of you may know, I'm doing an internship this summer, so I work Monday-Friday 8 AM - 4 PM. Since I have to work fairly early, I like to try to get to sleep by 11 PM. This definitely doesn't always happen on the weekends, but it's definitely my goal routine during the week!

10:30 PM: Pjs!

I love to be comfy, so if I'm not doing anything, there's a pretty good chance I'm probably in my pj's well before 10:30 PM, but if I'm out doing things, the first thing I do to get ready for bed is get into my cozy pjs. 

10:35 PM: Skincare

Skincare has become a huge part of my nighttime routine. It's so important to take good care of your skin, so I've made it a point to really focus on that in the evenings. That being said, I like to keep my routine pretty simple, because too many products on your face isn't good either. I've finally found some really great products that work really well with my skin. 

Step 1: Remove makeup

I've absolutely fallen in love with removing my makeup with coconut oil! I tried using a makeup wipe the other day and I hated it. Coconut oil does such a great job removing every bit of makeup and moisturizing at the same time. I take a bit of coconut oil and rub my fingers together to create more of an oil (since my oil is usually in a soft, solid form). I then massage it all over my face and then rinse it off!

Step 2: Cleanser

I purchased this cleanser a few months ago and it's amazing. After removing my makeup with coconut oil, I go ahead and wash my face with this super gentle cleanser to get any oil residue off of my skin.

Step 3: Exfoliating pads

I use these gentle exfoliating pads (c/o) to remove any dead skin and prepare my skin for the night cream I'm about to apply. These pads feel so nice on your skin and smell awesome!

Step 4: Night cream

I've been using this night cream each night to moisturize after washing my face. I absolutely love the smell and I always wake up in the morning with skin that feels extremely smooth and looks great. I've had a hard time finding a night cream that wasn't too thick or too thin, but I finally found this one and it's exactly what I was looking for!

10:45: Read in bed

Reading before bed is something I just recently started doing this summer, and it's definitely my favorite thing to do before bed. If I'm not feeling tired but I want to get to sleep because I have work in the morning, reading really calms me down and practically puts me to sleep after just a few minutes. 

I'm currently reading Vanishing Acts by Jodi Picoult and I'm LOVING it. What books are you guys currently reading? I'd love some new book ideas for this summer!

11 PM: Bedtime!

Since I have a full time job this summer, I've made it my goal to get to bed by at least 11 PM during the week so I can get enough sleep. It definitely wasn't easy at first since I've been used to going to bed later at school, but I think I've adjusted and I'm actually liking the whole getting to bed early life during the week!

My night routine isn't super exciting, but I wanted to share it with you guys since I had some people asking for the post. Don't forget to let me know what posts you want to see this summer!


  1. I love coconut oil too!! I use it all the time and definitely prefer it over makeup wipes any day. I use coconut oil as a lip moisturise too, so definitely recommend that!

  2. So fun!! I love reading these posts. My routine is pretty much the same! Also, I'm going to start taking off my makeup with coconut oil because the cleanser I'm using doesn't get it all off, and I'm not thrilled with my makeup wipes. Thanks for the suggestion!

    1. It works really well! I can't even use makeup wipes anymore because I'm addicted to coconut oil haha!
