DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe - Honestly Hannah

DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe

Hello beautiful people! As you may have figured out, I'm slightly obsessed with Pinterest ( follow me for tons of fashion/lifestyle pins!). Lately, Pinterest is filled with all things fall. I couldn't possibly be any happier about this, as fall is my favorite season. I can't imagine living in a place that didn't have fall (hence the fact that I am a total New England girl). I love all things fall. The other day, a "homemade pumpkin spice latte" post popped up on my feed, and I got inspired. I started searching through Pinterest and ended up with way too many homemade pumpkin spice latte pins. I noticed something in particular about most of these pins though. Many of the recipes included espresso! Don't get me wrong, I love espresso, and I know it's a key ingredient in many lattes. Come on though, I don't actually own an espresso maker. My  Keurig is the fanciest coffee maker I've got. So here's what I did: I meshed all of the recipes together, taking a few things from each recipe I found, and created my own homemade pumpkin spice latte recipe. This recipe is SO easy and only takes a few minutes to make. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee
- 1 cup of milk
- 3 tbs  pumpkin purée
- 1 tbs maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp  pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
-whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

1. Brew coffee in your coffee pot or Keurig.

2. Heat milk, maple syrup, pumpkin purée, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract on the stove in a saucepan until it begins to bubble.

3. If you have a  frother, use this now to froth the milk mixture. If you don't have frother, simply whisk the mixture until it becomes a bit thicker and looks bubbly. This won't give you the same results as a frother obviously, but you'll still have a delicious pumpkin spice latte!

4. Pour the mixture into a mug and then slowly pour the strongly brewed coffee into the mug. Top with whipped cream and cinnamon if you'd like!

5. ENJOY!

This recipe is seriously so easy and tastes absolutely amazing! It's so much better than spending $6 dollars at Starbucks to get that tasty pumpkin spice latte. I can already tell that I'll be making this latte a ton this fall/winter!

XO Hannah

  16. I was just saying the other day how I wanted to learn how to make my own pumpkin spice lattes. This one looks super easy! I'm totally with you when it comes to just owning a Keurig (although it's still one of the best inventions ever in my opinion). I'll definitely be trying this recipe out very soon. Thanks for sharing!
